Доклад подготовлен с целью обзора деятельности Казахстана по выполнению Тегеранской конвенции за период с 2019 по 2020 годы. Работа содержит анализ решений, принятых Конференцией Сторон Конвенции, и экологического законодательства, а также обзор программных документов Казахстана, направленных на защиту окружающей среды Каспийского моря.

The purpose of the Report is to review the activities of Kazakhstan related to implementation of obligations under the Tehran Convention in the period from 2019 to 2020. It includes an analysis of the decisions adopted by the Conference of the Parties to the Convention and the national environmental legislation, as well as an overview of programme documents of Kazakhstan aimed at protecting the Caspian Sea environment.

The approach used in this assessment was to collect and analyze information on biodiversity and related areas through documentation searches and interviews with key individuals and organizations concerned with biodiversity, both throughout Kazakhstan and in Washington, D.C. (see Annex C, List of Persons Contacted). An extensive series of field trips was undertaken.
